I have always enjoyed drawing and painting, and illustrating my own stories,
in between doing pictures to celebrate special occasions for people.
I have just started doing more of my own work after spending years
working full-time in an art shop to keep the wolf from the door. There gets
to a stage in your life when you realise if you don't do what you want to
you never will. so the wolf is certainly circling the house, but I'm having so much fun
I haven't given him a lot of thought....except perhaps in the early hours of the morning.
Lots of exciting things happening this year......I have a book coming out in May.
It is a joint project with Leanne Hallam writing the poetry and me doing the illustrations.
It is called A Crazy Day at the Zoo and is published by Running Hare Press.

Prior
to the launch day I will be very busy hosting a site for Oxford Art Weeks. Alan
will also be opening his studio to visitors. Lots of work, but great fun.
I do quite varied work, nursery style pictures and then little characters I use
in my card making. I have designed six rubber stamps that are sold in aid of
Helen and Douglas House. www.lollipopstamps.co.uk
They are really versatile, and I have used them for get well cards,
birthday cards and I used the fairy for my Christmas cards this year.
I love doing my little people pictures best of all. These are set at the turn of the century.
Street scenes and country scenes. I do these for clients as well, and it is great fun
putting their families into the Edwardian era, including pets and hobbies etc.
